This week I had the great pleasure of interviewing Nora Fok, contemporary jeweller, for my radio show. Nora creates the most stunning pieces from nylon thread. Do visit her website www.cloudnylon.com if only to look at the pictures. And if you get a chance to visit her exhibition as it tours the country then go!!! Cloud… (read more)
A short note on beauty
‘When you meet Beauty, you feel that the hands deep within your inner self are stretched forth to bring her into the domain of your heart.’ Kahlil Gibran
Trees in the morning light
This morning I walked the dogs across the field at the back of the house. One of the things I love about this field is the row of Hawthorn trees that cuts it in half. It reminds me of my childhood. The field surrounding my parent’s (rented) house was once pasture with a beautiful row… (read more)
The texture of ears
Tonight, after supper, I spent a while curled up with the dogs, just chilling and being in the moment. I played with their ears as I so often do. Jock the labrador puppy has ears like velvet, so soft but with a definite ‘pile’ to them. Maisie the terrier has ears like silk, the hairs… (read more)

Here’s another piece of music that gives you goose bumps. The vocalist is Lucinda Allen; she has the most beautiful voice. You… (read more)
A beautiful idea
While preparing my radio show In The Limelight for broadcast this evening, I came across a website that was truly inspiring. One of our local poets, Chris Green, is an ex-forces man and he had directed me to www.forcespoetry.com to read some of his poems. Forces Poetry is part of the Forces Literature Organisation Worldwide (FLOW)…. (read more)
Beauty in repose
Just as I was wondering what beautiful thing to post on this evening, Jock and Maisie gave me a clue. There is a certain beauty in two dogs curled up together. Apart from the ‘aaahhh’ quality of it, it’s the expression of trust and friendship in two dogs that have barely known each other a… (read more)
