Your Voice: Comparison and authenticity

This weeks podcast is on the subject of not comparing yourself to others and being your authentic self. Often when we compare ourself to other people we are comparing apples and oranges, particuarly when we are comparing our rough or raw first drafts to others who are delivering a polished finished product. It’s a pointless exercise and one that just makes life more complicated than it needs to be. Who hasn’t listened to some great speaker or read a great book and then felt disheartened because you just aren’t up there yet? The truth is that those great speakers and great writers started out with rough and raw drafts too, and probably an awful lot was dumped in the editing and polishing process.

So have a listen, and do share your stories and perspectives. You never know who will take comfort or inspiration from your story and experiences.
